Kathie Sierra graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Education. In 2016, she obtained her Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School.
Ms. Sierra began her legal career at a litigation boutique in Orange County, where she successfully represented corporate and individual clients in a broad range of civil litigation matters pending in both state and federal court and in arbitration. These matters involved contract and real estate disputes, fraud, personal injury, wrongful death, and complex construction defect litigation.
While in law school, Ms. Sierra served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Deborah J. Saltzman of the United States Bankruptcy Court, Central District of California, and as a judicial extern to the Honorable Steven J. Kleifield of the Los Angeles Superior Court. She also volunteered at the Los Angeles Bankruptcy Self-Help Center, and served as a mediator and conciliator at the Loyola Center for Conflict Resolution.
Before law school, Ms. Sierra taught middle school students in South Central Los Angeles, and provided services to the surrounding communities as an AmeriCorps member.
